God's Purpose in the Plagues
Preacher: Todd Odenath Series: Exodus Scripture: Exodus 9:1– 10:29
What false saviors do you still trust? We may not bow to statues, but we often rely on comfort, success, control, or approval in place of our living God. Like the Egyptians, we’re tempted to trust in gods that cannot save.
In Exodus 9–10, God declares: “I will send all my plagues... so that you may know that there is none like me in all the earth” (Exodus 9:14). He is not only judging Egypt, but He is making His name known. Every plague is an act of revelation, showing that the Lord (The Great I AM) alone is God.
In our day, the true and living God has made Himself known once and for all in Jesus Christ. He not only exposes our idols…He bears the judgment they deserve, so that we might know His name and walk in His light.
