We often treat God’s salvation as if it were only for us. But the Lord’s purposes are far greater. His saving work is meant to be known and rejoiced in by all peoples, and His wisdom shapes how His people live under His good authority.
In Exodus 18, Moses’ father-in-law Jethro hears of God’s mighty deliverance and declares, “Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods” (v. 11). In Jethro’s confession we glimpse God’s missionary heart, and a preview of the day when the name of the greater Mediator, Jesus Christ, will truly be known in all the earth.
Do you rejoice in God’s salvation and to live under His good wisdom?
