Remember the Sabbath
Preacher: Todd Odenath Series: Exodus Scripture: Exodus 20:8–11
With endless convenience, we might expect to feel more rested. Yet many of us are weary, restless, and stretched thin. Modern life has not solved the problem of exhaustion, it seems amplified.
In this sermon, we will turn to Exodus 20:8-11: “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.” We will see that the Sabbath is no mere suggestion but God’s command. It is a moral command given from creation, then written on stone at Sinai, and yet fulfilled in Christ. Should we still keep this command?
If so, what can we or can’t we do on the day? We will take up these questions in this sermon, looking not only at what God calls us to, but also at how Christ Himself brings us into the true rest that the Sabbath rest we so desperately need.
