We too often forget what is most important. We forget to rest, assuming our provision comes from our own hands. We forget to rely on God. We drift toward self-dependence and lose sight of the God who provides, sustains, and redeems. Exodus 23:10–19 confronts this forgetfulness by giving Israel rhythms of rest and remembrance that point to the redemption we all need. These ancient laws expose our need and point us to what has been given in Christ.
In this sermon, we will see how these commands lead us to Christ, the true Passover and the Firstfruits, who restores remembrance, anchors our rest, and gathers us to His table. We will also look ahead to the final feast He will host at the end of the age.
